Dedicated communication resource:

  • We had to define our own voice. External consultants and partners can support that message, but not create it.
  • The other communication functions are firmly focused on and meeting the needs of their audience – fans, teams, players, leadership, etc. We defined a role for a resource focused solely on our audience: employees.

HR brand:

  • Created an internal brand within the confines of and in direct alignment with our external brand
  • Employees are the stars: 3 out of 4 photos are of employees.
  • Every communication must include an HR “branding shape” and employee photo
  • Our Marketing team and other partners co-created with us, and now enthusiastically support it
  • Shows up from the first touchpoint (Careers website) through to all HR communications
